Albreanna was adopted at birth and never knew her biological family. All she knew was that her dad was black and her mom was Thai, anything other than that was a total mystery. When her adoptive mother died when she was 17 years old, she thought she was alone in the world. On a whim, she joined Ancestry.com, not really hoping for much. Then, one day, the 28-year-old aspiring model received a message from a man she'd never met before that changed everything.
She was messaged by a man claiming to be her brother. She might have scoffed at him, if it weren't for the fact that he knew details about her life, like her birthday, her birthplace, and her full name. He informed her that she had three other siblings, an older brother, and sister as well as him, her youngest brother.
Albreanna had recently moved to L.A. and was shocked to learn that her newfound younger brother lived only a half hour away. They soon met up and it was as if they had never been separated in the first place. She was soon introduced to the rest of the siblings. It was overwhelming to Albreanna to suddenly be surrounded by family, family that she was surprised to find that she had much in common with. The only person Albreanna hadn't met yet was her mother.
The siblings plotted together and decided to surprise their mother at the airport. Tears were plentiful as Albreanna and her mother met for the first time. There was an instant connection between the two of them. Albreanna learned that the day after her mother gave her up for adoption, she went and got her daughter's name tattooed on her ankle so she would never forget the baby she had to give up.
Since meeting her biological family, Albreanna has decided to set up an organization to work to connect adoptees with their own biological families called AlbreannaFindMe. She set up a GoFundMe account to raise money for her endeavors. To go from feeling alone in the world, with no family to have your back, to suddenly have brothers, a sister, nieces and nephews, grandparents, and more...it has to be almost overwhelming in the best way possible. Hopefully, her family is everything she ever dreamed they would be.
